Our first collaboration with the Franschhoek Literary Festival, of which we were a fringe event. Littlegig at Sterrekopje was a teeny tiny festival for 100 people at Franschhoek’s most talked-about new property, otherwise closed to the public. A dusk-til-midnight music, performance art and food experience, featuring theatre by a winner of the Standard Bank Young Artist Award for Theatre, acappella by four of Gugulethu’s top male voice choir leaders, a multi-instrumental sound improvisation by an Italian composer under an oak tree, flatbreads cooked on hot rocks, spiced amasi cocktails, glow-in-the-dark UV jellies in the dance party basement, and much more.
Main Acts: Jemma Kahn in the Ateljee, Mila Smith at the Oak Tree, The Harmonious Four in the Courtyard. Opening Acts and DJ: Ruben Hazelzet at the Chicken Coop, Alessandro Gigli at the Oak Tree, Marc Algranti in the Basement
Chef: Johnny Hamman of John Joseph. Mixologist: Kurt Schlechter, Cause and Effect.
